Welcome to the John William Welch Tribute Fund. When Dad was diagnosed with MND back in the spring of 2004 and we gradually realised the implications of the path ahead, Dad was determined that he would not give in to the disease and live life to it's fullest possible extent from that point on. I am so proud of the way that Dad did this and constantly fought the progression of this disease; even if it was occasionally in a slightly cantankerous manner! I am also proud, and in some awe, of Mum and the way that she coped with each setback and also the bravery she has showed, from diagnosis until this day. I would like to thank all of the family but particularly Kevin, Elaine and John and Ann for the constant support they were able to give Mum and Dad, especially when I could not be there. Additionally all those friends who are too numerous to mention here but whom I thank anyway for their support throughout, and particularly in the period leading up to Dad's funeral. I have also created this page to help raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association.
